A new partnership in the Potteries

We are pleased to announce that Bauerfeind UK has partnered with Port Vale FC. The agreement, signed this month between the club and Joint Operations, the UK distributor of Bauerfeind, will see the Valiants' squad kitted out in Bauerfeind Sports Compression Tights for the season ahead.

The conversation started with the club's medical team, who were looking at compression wear as part of how players prepare for and recover from the demands of a long football season. From there it grew into a club-wide partnership: every player in the squad will receive Bauerfeind compression tights, with kit also offered to the coaching staff.

Port Vale, founded in 1876 and based at Vale Park in Burslem, Stoke-on-Trent, are one of English football's oldest clubs. We are proud to add them to the growing list of teams working with Bauerfeind in the UK, alongside Hull FC and England Rugby League.

What the players will be wearing

The squad will wear the Bauerfeind Sports Compression Tights for Men, full-length compression leggings built as a training tool rather than just kit. They are worn under shorts in training and on their own for warm-ups, travel and recovery.

  • Targeted Compression. The knit follows a pressure curve through the thigh and calf that is designed to support blood circulation during and after exercise.
  • 3D Power Dots. Raised knit points worked into the fabric stimulate the muscles for sharper body awareness and more controlled movement, the same sensorimotor principle behind Bauerfeind's knee and ankle supports.
  • Recovery. After a session, the same compression is designed to support recovery so players can go again.
  • Simple sizing. One measurement, around the upper thigh, which makes fitting a 33-player squad straightforward for the club's performance staff.

The tights are part of the Bauerfeind Sports Compression Wear range launched this autumn, which sits alongside our established Sports Compression Sleeves for calf, thigh and arm.

What the partnership includes

Beyond the kit itself, the partnership gives Bauerfeind a presence at Vale Park and in the club's communications throughout the season:

  • The Bauerfeind logo on the big screen displays at Vale Park.
  • Partnership content across Port Vale's social media channels during the season.
  • A content day with the squad, where we will film the players using the kit and share how it fits into their routine.

Keep an eye on our own channels too. We will be sharing behind-the-scenes content from Vale Park as the season goes on.

Why football clubs are turning to compression

A football season asks a lot of the legs. Players train most days, play once or twice a week, and spend hours on coaches between fixtures. Compression wear has become a standard part of how professional clubs manage that load, worn in training, on the way to and from games, and in the recovery window afterwards.

Bauerfeind has made compression and orthopaedic supports in Germany since 1929, and the same knitting expertise behind the medical range goes into the sports line. For clubs, that means kit that is engineered for a specific job rather than an accessory, and that holds its compression wash after wash through a long season.

Yes. The squad wears the Bauerfeind Sports Compression Tights for Men, which are available to everyone on bauerfeind.co.uk in Anthracite and Navy, sizes S to XXL. Sizing is a single measurement around the upper thigh, and the product page has the size guide.

Which other teams does Bauerfeind UK work with?

Bauerfeind UK is the official sports compression partner of rugby league club Hull FC and supports England Rugby League with its sports compression range. Port Vale FC joins them as our latest club partner.

Bauerfeind Sports Compression Wear is performance clothing, not a medical device. If you have a circulatory condition or are unsure whether compression is suitable for you, speak to a GP or physiotherapist first.
