Product details

LordoLoc® is suitable for use as a back brace for the stabilization of the lumbar spine, for example in the event of chronic lumbar vertebral syndrome. The stabilizing orthosis with four 91/4" integral anatomically contoured flexible lightweight aluminum stays has a muscle-activating effect, relieves the spine and is very low-profile. The degree of stabilization can be adjusted to provide optimal individual support to the lower back.
  • Easy to put on and take off
  • Material is very breathable and gentle on the skin
  • Low-profile and discrete

I bought the LordoLoc back brace because I’ve had L4/5 fusion and I now have L5/S1 herniation as well as hypo mobility in my sacral iliac joints. It is a life saver!! I can finally walk without being in too much pain. I like the fact that it’s long so it fits my waist and pelvis in one. Really pleased with my purchase!!

Nicola, this made our day. The LordoLoc is designed to span the waist and pelvis in one, so hearing that it's letting you walk with less pain after everything you've been through means a great deal. Thank you for sharing your experience.

Bought two for my 91 year old father who suffers from a degenerative spinal injury. The corsets give him great support which helps alleviate some of the pain and enables a more stable posture.
He can get them on unaided and the adjustments are easy to manage.

It has provided the stability I need to help when I am out. My back is repairing and whilst I know I need to keep it moving gently having that assurance that it is safe when I am out and about is invaluable.

Thank you for your thoughtful review! We’re so pleased to hear that the LordoLoc Back Brace is providing you with the stability and reassurance you need while you’re out and about. Supporting your recovery while allowing gentle movement is exactly what it’s designed for, so it’s wonderful to know it’s making a difference for you.

The materials and construction are top quality German design -- effective, adjustable and comfortable. The width is sufficient to cover the lumbar region of even a larger person (I'm 6'4"). The somewhat flexible rear metal strips provide adequate support -- while the additional inner fabric padding offers soothing comfort. Movement is excellent and the separate top straps can be easily adjusted so that your ribs are not pinched when seated.

I might suggest to actually measure your waist rather than just order by your normal pant size (proper fit is crucial). From the broad range of sizes available, choosing a size just slightly larger can provide some fit options... if it's too small, comfort is not possible. Also, wearing the support over a T-shirt or similar garment adds comfort and reduces frequent washing.

These devices do take some getting used to. At first, consider wearing the support for a just a portion of the day and try various adjustments. Regarding washing, as directed, be sure all the Velcro is fastened together first. Just wash separately in warm water with a mild detergent. Air drying is best to preserve the elastic materials (guard against high dryer heat). However, drying by air does take about 24 hours.

Having tried several different back support devices, thankfully the Bauerfeind is a real winner in my book. After several surgeries, I can now enjoy normal activities with significantly less discomfort at the end of a busy day. Highly recommended.

Common questions

The things people ask us most before ordering.

What happens if I order the wrong size?

Send it back within 30 days for a full refund, or email orders@jointoperations.co.uk and we'll swap it for the right size.

Measuring before you order is the quickest route - the size finder on this page turns two tape-measure numbers into a size in about twenty seconds.

Can I wear it under clothing?

Yes. The knit is low-profile and designed to sit under trousers, leggings or a tracksuit without bunching. Most people wear it all day without anyone noticing.

How do I wash it?

Machine wash at 30°C on a gentle cycle with any fasteners closed. No fabric softener and no tumble drying - dry it flat, away from direct heat.

Washing it regularly actually helps: it lifts the body oils out of the knit and the compression holds its shape for longer.

How long should I wear it for?

Most people wear a support during activity and take it off to sleep. If a clinician recommended it to you, follow their guidance - they'll have a plan for your particular situation.

If you've bought it yourself for ongoing pain and you're not sure, it's worth getting the underlying problem looked at rather than relying on the support alone.

When will it arrive?

Standard delivery takes 3-4 working days and is free on orders over £95. Order before 12:30pm Monday to Thursday for next-day delivery.

Orders placed before 12:30pm on a working day are dispatched the same day; after the cut-off, or at the weekend, they go out on the next working day.

Can I claim it back on insurance or through work?

Some private health policies and occupational health schemes cover orthopaedic supports when they've been recommended by a clinician. We can send an itemised VAT invoice for your claim - just email us with your order number.

Can I buy wholesale for my clinic or shop?

Yes. We're the UK distributor for Bauerfeind, and we supply retailers, clinics, pharmacies and physiotherapy practices directly. Send us a trade enquiry and we'll come back with pricing and account terms.
